Prevention
In addition to helping people after their lives have been impacted by alcohol, other drugs and gambling, NAIC works collaboratively with communities to prevent and reduce substance abuse and related issues. Prevention Services provides technical assistance/consultation, education, early intervention, leadership development, coalition development, training, social policy strategies, advocacy, and awareness through a variety of programs. We value vision, teamwork, professionalism, balance and diversity.
Prevention Services
Area Prevention Resource Center (APRC)
The Area Prevention Resource Center (APRC) NAIC is one of 17 APRCs funded by the Oklahoma State Department of Mental Health/Substance Abuse Services (DMH). Our goal is to reduce substance abuse and violence by youth in our service area: Cleveland and McClain Counties.
The APRC provides technical assistance, consultation and training in evidence based programs and practices, community education, and the development of coalitions, youth leadership programs and social policy change.
The APRC offers a large library of prevention-related materials available for checkout: videos, books, and curriculum. A multitude of FREE brochures and fact sheets are available.
Please stop by NAIC Prevention Services at 215 W. Linn to see the wealth of information offered to you and your community. Contact Marcy Usry, at prevention@naichelp.org or (405) 321-6446, if you have questions regarding the library or checkout procedures.
